About Me

I'm Cathy LaFaive-Markstrom. I've been married for 11 years (as of Aug 9th) to Jim Markstrom. We have a son named Samm, he'll be 9 on Oct 14. I was born & raised in Racine, WI (graduated from Walden III in '91), while the hubby is from the Chicago area. I've been a ham for over 5 years now (since July 2003) and I'm very active locally in clubs, events, foxhunts, etc.

I'm the new Southeast Wisconsin Citizen Corps Coordinator at the Volunteer Center of Racine County.

I'm a college student, at UW-Parkside. I am pursuing BS in Geosciences with a minor in Criminal Justice.
