Talk:Treasures from your trunk

Nice draft, Alex. I showed it to Marilynn. We need the management's OK. We have a tentative OK but once we pick a date we will have to get an OK for that particular day. Marilynn will talk to him once we have the date.
Marilynn was also concerned as how the Volunteer Center of Racine County would benefit financially from this.
I think a meeting with Marilynn would be appropriate once we have our dates and ideas figured out.
Some thoughts on this:
We could have the entrance for foot traffic through the center's front door. The center could have their items for sale inside. there should be room to have other items for sale inside. Since space is at a premium we could charge more for the indoor space. If there was a vacant spot in the complex they may let us use it and then we would have more indoor area.
There are restaurants in the immediate vicinity. I still think people may buy hot dogs/polish or sloppy joes and soda if the volunteer center or us sold them.
These are just a few thoughts. --WB9USI 14:58, 10 January 2007 (CST)
Sounds like a good idea. Maybe late spring, early summer? --KC9EOW 13:02, 11 January 2007 (CST)
The VCRC Should be involved. since is is strongest pull..
I think a type of cover charge % should go to VCR for helping greatly, and % for ARES... etc.
If other organizations want to help for fundraiser is a possiblity thier committe would have to spend some $ for space and recoup it by providing a benefit for the event. selling food whatever. --KB9MMA 14:13, 11 January 2007 (CST)
I would raise the entrace fee to a level where people would come and where we would attract vendors.
Remember actual vendors may have tables and will make $
ALso how many people are we expecting No one will come if they aren't going to have an audience. base the pricing off that.
if we are going to have 25 people price it that way. --KB9MMA 14:23, 11 January 2007 (CST)
I suspect there is a potential for a lot of people to participate. I'm not sure on what should be the admission and vendor fees, but I want them to be dirt cheap, or at least dirt cheap in contrast to other fests. I want to keep the fest simple and slightly different than other fests, but I want presentations or forums of some kind... they seem to be disappearing from most fests today.
