Subnet

fIRST 44.X.X.X. is a class A netmask. secondly class c is to limitiing We would run out of IP's with a class c We will change to a real IP block when we get it. Jim

What are you talking about? Yes 44/8 is a class A. I'm talking about 44.128.5.x which is a class C. How many IPs do you think we need? 254 isn't enough?? N9RGX 17:19, 5 December 2006 (CST)

44.x.x.x

Well if you need more addresses then do this:

  • Network: 44.128.4.0/22 (CIDR Notation)
  • Range: 44.128.4.0 - 44.128.7.255
  • Subnet Mask: 255.255.252.0
  • Wildcard mask 0.0.3.255 (Inverted Subnet)
  • Mask Bits: 22
  • Network: 44.128.4.0
  • Broadcast: 44.128.7.255

This would allow

  • 44.128.4.0/24 Reserved
  • 44.128.5.0/24 Assigned addresses
  • 44.128.6.0/24 DHCP addresses
  • 44.128.7.0/24 Reserved

Example

I highly recommend we change the subnet. These addresses should be in the 44.128/16 group. The subnet should be a class C.

As follows:

Subnet mask on all devices 255.255.255.0 important make sure this subnet mask is used at all times..
