Served agencies

Served agencies are primarily non-government organizations (NGOs) with which ARES is capable of coordinating activities in times of need. In times of need, served agencies and organizations, alert licensed radio amateurs through ARES of the need for emergency communications.

The federal government requires served agencies to use NIMS and ICS. All ARES personelle who would be interacting with served agencies must have ICS and NIMS training per Presidential Directives HSPD5 and HSPD8.
