RCARES 2008 Triathlon SUN
From Megawiki
Once again, a field of exceptional competitors from throughout the nation and internationally will be competing. And once again the spirited people of Racine will open their doors and roll out the red carpet. That means you can count on fans and volunteers cheering at every turn.
The swim takes place along Lake Michigan’s pristine lake front, followed by a bike ride on the Modine Manufacturing Bike Course in the scenic countryside of Racine County and finishes with a run on the All Saints Run Course through Racine’s quaint, historic neighborhoods.
Participants truly enjoyed last year’s event and this year we’re making it even better. With its scenic course, spirited people and a competitive field fighting for a share of the $25,000 HALF prize purse, this is an exciting triathlon for first timers and seasoned veteran competitors.
This year's HALF field is limited to 2000 participants.

- A SAG Wagon ( AMBULANCE) (Aka Broom Wagon) is a support motor vehicle following long races or recreational rides to pick up riders unable to complete the event. "SAG" may mean "Support And Gear" or "Support Aid Group." Hams may be needed with SAG units to report position and condition of participants in the race.
- An Aid Station is a location in an endurance race where supplies are given to the athletes. Typically sports drinks like Gatorade are provided as well as water. Depending on the length of the race, food may be available. The aid station also serves as a check point to track the competitors. First aid supplies may also be available. Hams will report position and condition of participants of the race as they pass through the aid station and may relay support information.
