Ham Radio Clubs & Organizations
The Racine Megacycle Club is an organization of Radio Amateurs in Racine, WIsconsin.
The Lakeshore Repeater Association is an organization of Radio Amateurs in South-Eastern Wisconsin that maintains and operates the VHF 2 Meter KR9RK repeater on 147.270 MHz and the 70 centimeter KR9RK repeater on 442.00 MHz

The West Allis Radio Amateur Club, Inc. (WARAC) was founded in 1954 by hams in West Allis, Wisconsin and the southwest suburban areas of Milwaukee. Today, the club has active members from all parts of the Metropolitan Milwaukee area.
The WISCONSIN ASSOCIATION OF REPEATERS was founded in 1972 as an organization of trustees and representatives of repeaters, State-wide, whose goal is mutual cooperation on the VHF/UHF spectrum, in the voluntary spirit of Amateur Radio. Today, there are over 600 coordinated repeaters and links in the State.
The Milwaukee Area Amateur Radio Society operates the largest-coverage 2 meter repeater in Southeastern Wisconsin.
Our nickname is "The Friendly One" because we try very hard to make the 146.91 a great place for hams to meet their friends and to make new ones. We have a Friendship Committee whose purpose is to contact new arrivals on the repeater and to make them feel welcome.

SKYWARN is a concept developed in the early 1970s that was intended to promote a cooperative effort between the National Weather Service and communities. The emphasis of the effort is often focused on the storm spotter, an individual who takes a position near their community and reports wind gusts, hail size, rainfall, and cloud formations that could signal a developing tornado. Another part of SKYWARN is the receipt and effective distribution of National Weather Service information.

An integral component of the emergency management program is public outreach, educating the public on hazards to the community and proper safeguards to take.

The American Red Cross is a humanitarian organization, led by volunteers, that provides relief to victims of disaster and helps people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies.
