John L. Springer
1938 - 2006
John L. Springer, 67, of Twin Lakes, Wis., passed away Sunday evening, April 23, 2006, at the Memorial Hospital of Burlington. John Lee Springer was born on April 28, 1938, in Chicago, Ill., the son of John Lee and Marie Seidel Springer. On Sept. 27, 1986, in Twin Lakes, Wis., he was united in marriage to Norma Andrews. He has lived in Twin Lakes for the past 30 years. He served in the National Guard. He formerly worked as an engineer for the Zenith Corp., in Glenview, Ill., Motorola and Oak Industries. He formerly owned BJ's Steakhouse in Spooner, Wis. He attended St. John's Catholic Church in Twin Lakes. He was a member of the Twin Lakes Sailing Club, the Twin Runners Snowmobile Club, the Amateur Radio Club, ARRL Amateur Radio Club and the Milwaukee Skywarn. He enjoyed hunting, sailing, radio's and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. John is survived by his wife, Norma; his mother, Marie Springer of Twin Lakes, Wis., two daughters, Carrie (Jim) Hergott of Twin Lakes, Wis., Ann (John) Kinzer of Waterford, Wis., four sons, James McGregor of Silver Lake, Wis., Ken McGregor of Twin Lakes, Wis., David (Tamme) of Twin Lakes, Wis., and Steve (Lana) McGregor of Twin Lakes, Wis., ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 28, 2006, at St. John's Catholic Church in Twin Lakes with Fr. Michael Erwin officiating. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery. The Springer family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Haase-Derrick-Lockwood Funeral Home in Twin Lakes. Memorial remembrances may be made to the Twin Lake Rescue Squad.
